🍌 This Is Bananas!
Last week I had one of those "wow" moments that reminded me why I love innovation. I deployed a ~100 frame per second object detection tool in about 2 hours (see photo below). Remember, I'm not even a programmer! All it took was a $60 camera, a $120 computer, and two large cups of coffee. This device can do its job not connected to the internet and with only a few watts of power.
This is exactly the kind of accessible AI that I believe will change everything – not just for tech experts, but for curious, persistent people with ideas.
If you want to try it, grab a Raspberry Pi 5 and the AI Camera. The possibilities are endless! Roll up your sleeves! But don't worry, AI will be your guide and take you to the finish line.
🚀 Last week was a big AI week:
- OpenAI 4.5 was released to $200-a-month customers. I'm very impressed and will integrate this AI into Sopheva soon. You can find more details in the OpenAI GPT-4.5 announcement. I had a very interesting conversation ranging from decoy pricing, to legal strategy, to price anchoring, to competitive analysis and market positioning. Wow! Is it worth $200? If you've got some work to do, I'd say so. Or you can wait a few weeks to see if it comes out for the $20-a-month accounts.
- Claude 3.7 was released last week. This is a very nice improvement on an already very good product, and I've integrated it into Sopheva.
- I'm really enjoying AI-integrated search in both ChatGPT and in Perplexity, which allows for something like 30 web searches happening in parallel to generate a report for you. You can try it out at Perplexity or ChatGPT search.
- Claude Code will likely transform the industry of software development and was released into private preview last week. Learn more about Claude Code.
- Video Generation: Also included in OpenAI's $200 a month pro package is video generation. I'm not sure what to do with this yet, but here is a parody video I made for my Canadian friend who was having trouble getting a heart procedure up north. I sound like a terrible friend, but trust me, he loved it. "The unusual cardioversion procedure was carried out on a patient who was on the grassy front lawn of a house in Roland Park. Doctors used power from an electric vehicle in sunny weather." Photo Below:
📈 Sopheva Updates
Sopheva usage is growing faster than I can handle. Soon I'm going to turn off new users until we can hire a support team (or add an AI for support). I love that you love this app, but please don't post on social media. Yet. My inbox can't handle a New York Times article, but feel free to share with a few friends if you think others would get value out of this. Just ask them not to put it on social media please!
If you haven't tried it yet, the ☎️ phone intake tool is getting rave reviews. This can help you prepare for any advisory meeting on the go. Look for the phone icon on the Sopheva start page after you login.
As always, email me or tell me how I can make this better. rob@Sopheva.com.
🌱 The Sopheva Story
The Sopheva name comes from Sophia, Greek wisdom, combined with evolution.
Robert Wray, Sopheva's creator, founded three companies, with the most recent one, WBX, growing to 500 employees in three states. His companies and career thrived with the support of mentors and advisors. However, these crucial advisors aren't available 24/7 and they're hard to find, especially during challenging times.
Humans do their best work when surrounded by a team of diverse thinkers. While AI systems process vast amounts of information to generate responses, they can lack the nuance of human experience.
We incorporate unique experiences, stories, and diverse viewpoints into AI systems to help improve our thinking to fundamentally change the way humans use AI to make decisions. Contact us at team@sopheva.com to learn more.
